40 weeks- final post

Baby girl came at 39 weeks, 5 days.  Or June 13th, 2013.  As a last entry to the blog on pregnancy, I took my last "bump shot" which includes baby girl.  

39 week appt

Fluid level is measuring normal.  I'm 1 cm dilated, and it seems like she's starting to get ready.  Unfortunately no induction talk until I'm past my due date.  Come on baby girl!

39 weeks

How many weeks are you? 39 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a watermelon.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am ready for her to come.
Physically- Achy, tired and ready for her to come.

Movement? She rolls and hiccups.

38 week appt

So today was the "Big" day.  She's measuring normal, and not big at all!  No need for a scheduled c-section.  Her fluid level is a wee bit low (but apparently normal).  So I need to take it easy this weekend and drink lots of fluid.  On Tuesday, I'll get checked and have another ultrasound for a fluid check.  If it's still low, they'll be scheduling an induction. 

38 weeks

How many weeks are you? 38 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a pumpkin.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am really excited and hoping she shows soon!
Physically- Achy, tired and ready for her to come.

Movement? Movement is still slow, but it happens.

37 week appt

Apparently everyone was confused thinking I was having the growth check today.  Nope!  Talk to the doc from last week.  =p  Everything is still looking good.  Since I've been having some cramping, I got checked and there is nothing going on.  She's as snug as a bug in there!  Still head down.  =)

37 weeks

How many weeks are you? 37 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a winter melon.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am in full on nesting to get her nursery in tip top shape.
Physically- Feet, ankles and fingers are starting to swell daily.

Movement? Same amount of movement, usually she just pushes my belly around.

AW: Full term today!!!!!!
BOO: I had to take off my wedding rings today because of the swelling.  =/

 

36 week appt

I tested positive for the Group B strep test.  Boo- antibiotics during labor.  Belly is also measuring big again.  We pushed the growth check to week 38, and they'll decide then if they're going to suggest a C-section.  Other than that, everything else is good and normal. 

36 weeks

How many weeks are you? 36 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a honeydew.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am anxious and ready to meet her.
Physically- Cramping and feeling tired.

Movement? Less movement this week, but she's starting to run out of room!

35 week appt

Everything was measuring good today.  My belly is measuring at 37 weeks now, so not too bad.  I had the Group B strep test today, not as bad as I thought it would be.  She asked me if I wanted a cervix check, I declined.  I found out I have to go to CVS or the health dept. to get my Tdap vaccine.  I also start my weekly appointments.  I can't believe she's almost here!

35 weeks

How many weeks are you? 35 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a cocunut.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am super excited for my shower today! 
Physically- More braxton hicks this week and lots of body aches.

Movement? She loves moving around and making my belly move.

AW: 35 weeks, 35 days left today.  Yay for hitting another milestone!

 

34 weeks

How many weeks are you? 34 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a butternut squash.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am loving the progress we're making on our to-do list. 
Physically- Starting to get some braxton hicks contractions often.

Movement? She is very busy in there.

33 week appt

Welp, I'm growing a big baby!  Her head is measuring a little big, but her abdomen is in the 88th percentile.  Doc is keeping me on low carbs and treating me like I have gestational diabetes, just without the insulin checks.  He said "keep doing what I'm doing."  She is weighing in at 5 pounds.  He said we'll do another growth check at 37 weeks, and then that will help tell how delivery will go. 

33 weeks

How many weeks are you? 33 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a durian.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am wanting to finish up our to-do list. 
Physically- Pretty well, I just can't stand for long periods of time.

Movement? She gets really busy moving around.

AW: We had maternity photos today, and they went really well!  The rain held off!  Also one of my ASC kids got to feel her kick!  

 

32 weeks

How many weeks are you? 32 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a squash.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am getting antsy to meet her. 
Physically- My feet hurt almost every night when I get home from work.

Movement? Still moving a lot.  She gave me a good morning kick right before my alarm went off this morning.  :) 

 

31 week appt

Weight and blood pressure are good.  My belly is still measuring 2 weeks ahead, so doc has ordered a growth ultrasound for next appointment.  She also wants me to try a low carb diet, and see if that helps.  We'll find out in 2 weeks if it's fluid that is making the belly big, or if it's Princess Peach.  Fingers crossed it's fluid making it big.  

31 weeks

How many weeks are you? 31 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a pineapple.  (Whoa!)

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am getting nervous about meeting her. 
Physically- My knee has hurt a few times this week and my ankles have hurt every night.  (Not cool!)

Movement? She moves a lot, and is starting to get active at night as well.

30 weeks

How many weeks are you? 30 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a cucumber.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I'm on cloud nine because all of the furniture has been assembled!  It looks so pretty in there.
Physically- I'm doing pretty good this week.  It helps that I've gotten to take a nap every day.  I'll miss that next week.

Movement? My stomach has been moving whenever she moves.  It is so weird/ cool to watch.  

29 weeks

How many weeks are you? 29 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is an acorn squash.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- Happy that the nursery is coming along, and excited to see family tomorrow.
Physically- My back is killing me.  I think I over did it yesterday and today.  Will have to use the heating pad tonight.

Movement? She is very active in there.

28 week appt

My weight and blood pressure are great.  We started off the appointment with me drinking the GTT drink.  I downed it like a champ!  It left a little after taste, but it didn't make me queasy or anything.  We then moved onto the ultrasound.  We saw the goods... again, to confirm for the 3rd time, it's still a girl.  =)  She was being very stubborn and would not show her face.  It took awhile, and the tech had me roll over a bunch of times.  We finally got something that was good enough.  Yay!  I love seeing her.  She kept opening her mouth and practicing breathing.  The tech said at one point she was probably telling us to leave her alone!  After the ultrasound, I got to wait in the room for like 30 minutes for the doctor.  The nurse came in and pricked my finger to do the test.  She also checked my hemoglobin and iron levels.  Everything was great, and I passed the 1 hour test!!!!  The doc came in afterwards and we chatted about what was going on and she answered all questions.  Overall, great appointment!

28 weeks

How many weeks are you? 28 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is an eggplant. (Again).

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I'm on cloud nine that the nursery has gotten the basic work done.  Now to decorate and buy furniture!
Physically- Energy is going away.  I'm feeling tired by 8 pm each night.  Not cool!

Movement? I felt baby hiccups for the first time last night, and Matt is able to feel her occasionally now.  She's still a bit shy for having other people feel her.

27 weeks- 3rd Trimester

How many weeks are you? 27 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a rutabaga.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am very happy.
Physically- Energy lacked this week and seasonal allergies/ possible cold/ sinus infection has arrived.

Movement? She is very happy and moves a lot when I eat.....

26 weeks

What size is baby this week? Baby is a head of lettuce.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am in full nesting mode and loving every minute of it.
Physically- My sciatic nerve is acting up and making for some sleepless nights.

Movement? She is going to be a little gymnast since she tumbles all the time.  She has started kicking hard too.

AW: Yesterday marked 99 days until her arrival.  Double digits!!!!

25 weeks

How many weeks are you? 25 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is an eggplant.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am anxious to work on the nursery.
Physically- I'm aching all over. Leg pains and a backache.

Movement? She was doing some tumbling this morning. 

24 week appt.

Today was a great appointment.  It took the nurse a little while to find the heartbeat, even though I heard it clear as day.  (Proud mama!)  Doc came in and said my weight and blood pressure are great.  Everything seems to have been smooth sailing.  I asked my questions about my charlie horse, and he gave me his answers.  He then measured my belly, and said it is also on track.  It measures 24 inches, how cool is that???  He prepped me for next appointment and then sent me on my way.  All in all, a great appointment!

24 weeks: V-day!

How many weeks are you? 24 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a cantaloupe.  (Again??)

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am excited for my appointment on Tuesday so I can hear her heartbeat. 
Physically-  Feeling good!

Movement?  Still not consistent.  I notice it more when I'm sitting or laying down.  

Special Note- Happy Viability Day little one!  If she were to be born now she would have a better chance at survival.  =)

23 weeks

How many weeks are you? 23 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a grapefruit.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am happy that we're making progress with the guest bedroom and office.
Physically-  Still feeling awesome! 

Movement?  Not consistent, but she is starting to make her presence known. 

Movement

I started feeling something last Friday.  I wasn't certain, and kept comparing it to gas.  Last night it definitely was not gas.  I felt her kick hard.  I had been cramping and very uncomfortable, and then she sent me a sign to say everything was okay.  I love this! 

22 weeks

How many weeks are you? 22 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a papaya.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am itching to get a move on with the nursery.
Physically-  Feeling awesome, and am able to tell people that. 

Movement?  I felt something yesterday.  I hope it's what I think it is!!!

21 weeks

How many weeks are you? 21 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a banana.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am calm and ready to do baby stuff.
Physically-  My back isn't hurting as much, and I am cold free! 

Appointment updates? Anatomy scan showed she is still a girl.

Movement?  None yet....  Christi (OB nurse) says by my next appointment (24 weeks), I should have felt her.  

 

Anatomy Scan

She was wiggling and kicking the entire time.  Everything is measuring great.  She is still a she, and measuring 2 days ahead.  She weighs 14 oz.  They got good shots of everything.  We were not able to get a good shot of the heart.  The tech saw the 4 chambers, but baby was face down, so it was not a great picture.  She had her hands on her face the entire time, and we could not get a profile shot.  Doc says we'll check those 2 things at my 28 week visit.  Other than that, our little one is doing great!

20 weeks (Half baked)

How many weeks are you? 20 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a cantaloupe.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am anxious to get started on the nursery.
Physically-  My cold went away, but I pulled a muscle in my back.  I'm trying to take it easy and not do any strenuous activities. 

Appointment updates? We have our Anatomy Scan on Tuesday.

Movement?  Nothing.  =/

19 weeks

How many weeks are you? 19 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a mango.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am really excited that we're having a little girl.
Physically-  I woke up with a cold this morning- joy.....

Appointment updates? We got to find out that we were having a little girl and we got to see her wiggling!  It was so precious!  

Movement?  I might be feeling flutters.  Not positive yet, I still think it's gas....  

It's a GIRL!!!

We're having a GIRL!!!!!!  She showed us the goods right away, and was such a wiggle worm!  She was laying on her tummy so we got a nice look at her spine.  Her hands were covering her face, and she refused to move them.  It was too cute!  She's got the same shyness as her Mom!!!!  I can't wait to meet our little one!  Her nickname has been decided on, and we will call her Princess Peach.  I love talking about her.  Squeee!!!!  Below is the picture of our reveal on facebook.  

18 weeks

How many weeks are you? 18 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is a sweet potato.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- 5 days until we find out the sex.
Physically-  My cold is gone and my energy is back.  Praise the Lord!!!!

 
Random Tidbit: My coworkers are eagerly awaiting the news of what our baby's sex is.  Some of them knew the exact date we were getting the ultrasound done.  I love how excited everyone is!

 

17 weeks

How many weeks are you? 17 weeks!!!!!

What size is baby this week? Baby is an onion.

How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Emotionally- I am really excited about finding out the sex soon.
Physically-  My cold might be *knock on wood* subsiding.....

Appointment updates? I had my 16 week appointment earlier in the week and got to hear the heartbeat!

16 week appt.

We got to hear the heartbeat this morning!  Doc said it was measuring at 142.  My weight gain is good and baby is measuring on track!  I will be going back for our elective ultrasound to find out the sex on the 17th.  Then we have our Anatomy Scan scheduled for the 29th.  I can't wait to see the little jelly bean again.  =)
